All About Me:
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Literacy Education. This year marks my eleventh year of teaching but my seventh here at AMS. I am originally from Dubuque, Iowa where I currently live. Before coming to work at AMS, I taught primarily in the Dubuque Community School District and the surrounding areas. During this time I was also a Reading and Math Interventionist and gained extensive experience in the areas of special needs and behavioral education. In addition, I have had collegiate teaching experience in both the Cedar Falls and Waterloo districts as well.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, watching movies, playing games, attending UNI athletic events and enjoying a good book. Reading is one subject that I am especially passionate about and something I am hoping to instill in my students. As I stated before, I LOVE traveling! In previous years I’ve traveled abroad to Italy, France, United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Canada. A couple summers ago I went on a big trip to several National Parks and landmarks, including Mount Rushmore! This past summer I visited Niagara Falls on the Canada side and it was super cool! I am very excited to bring all these cultural experiences back to my students!
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me. I check my email numerous times a day and will certainly receive and respond to anything you send me in a timely manner.
